Bullying is a major barrier to student learning. It is preventing our youth from developing into caring, productive members of society.

Make sure your staff is trained and has the necessary information and strategies to successfully launch and sustain Utterly Global’s bullying prevention programs. Utterly Global provides ongoing assistance in the implementation of their programs and training elements.

Training is offered for educators, parents, students, support staff and community members. We will design a presentation to meet your needs. Following is a sampling of our most requested presentations:

Module 1
“Bullying Prevention and Intervention Workshop”

This interactive workshop is designed to explore the root causes and obstacles in eliminating bullying and meet the challenges faced by educators, parents and the community. It provides the comprehensive tools needed to reduce and prevent bullying. Some of the topics our trainers will cover are:

• Destroying the myths and imparting the latest research findings
• Girl bullying, relational aggression and cliques vs. boy bullying
• Effective intervention strategies
• Recognizing the characteristics of a bully and target/victim
• Identifying who is at risk
• Empowering students to become pro-active bystanders
• Technology, the internet and cyber bullying

Trainers entertain questions throughout the workshop and provide a question and answer period at the end of the workshop. They will remain after the conclusion of the workshop to discuss specific concerns on an individual basis.

 Module 2
“Train the Trainer Workshop”
 Research indicates that attitudes and behavior all demonstrate positive change when the staff is informed, educated and given the right tools to handle bullying behaviors. If a child comes to an adult for help and it is not handled properly it is likely the problem will escalate.

This cost effective and interactive workshop provides the vehicle for a large district or camp to broaden its outreach in training the entire staff on bullying prevention and intervention. “Train the Trainer” offers a comprehensive toolkit to develop and enhance the facilitator’s ability to deliver training to other staff members and conduct parent presentations. This workshop is designed to accompany the purchase of Module 5 “Turn-Key Manual for Staff Training and Parent Presentations” A sampling of what participants will gain from this workshop are:

• Easy methods of effective intervention
• How to incorporate bullying prevention into the curriculum or daily schedule

Module 3
“Student Workshop”  
Our trainers offer workshops and training for student groups from preschool through 8th grade. Students become proactive in changing the culture of their school by learning the importance of activating the bystander and implementing their own ideas. Students will learn about bullying by participation in:

• Interactive games
• Role playing
• Small group activities

A series of workshops can be purchased for peer leaders, after school club or any student group.  Our training director will work with you to design a training or series of workshops to meet your specific needs, goals and objectives.

Module 4
“Parent Presentation”

Trainers are available for day, evening or week-end presentations. This is an effective program for parent organizations, schools and communities seeking to educate the adult population on this important issue. Some of the topics covered are:

• The signs a child may be a victim of bullying
• The long term damaging effects of bullying
• How to bully proof children
• Effective strategies to prevent bullying
• How to help the child that bullies
• How to help the child that is bullied

A consultation prior to the presentation will ensure that all topics important to you will be covered.

Utterly Global’s Program Manuals

All thestudent programs empower students by teaching them new skills and giving them an opportunity to practice them. Learning to become assertive without being aggressive and developing empathy promotes social and emotional development. Utterly Global programs will enable the facilitator to conduct effective interactive bullying prevention and intervention sessions with students.

Module 5                                                                                                              

“Turn-Key Manual for Staff Training & Parent Presentations”

Module 5 includes all the necessary tools to conduct your own bullying prevention and intervention training for staff and parent presentations. It is very important that all staff understand the importance of emotional intelligence. Enable your staff to be pro-active, spot bullying, learn intervention strategies, set the tone and promote leadership skills. Train parents on the signs of bullying, intervention strategies and how to “bully proof” their children. Train lunch aides, bus drivers and para- professionals that are often missed when it comes to training due to funding. This tool allows you to train year after year in the most cost effective way.

Module 6

“Let’s Be Friends” Early Childhood Bullying Prevention (Pre-k – 2)

Bullying and relational aggression begin as early as three years old. Incorporate the “bully free” message in the classroom by encouraging tolerance and kindness.

Module 6 offers:

• Themes for each month of the school year
• Parent component to reinforce what is learned at school 
• Songs
• Games
• Activities
• Reproducible “Good Friend” certificate 
• “Stuffable” mascot.

Preschoolers will take a “Friendship Pledge” and stuff the friendship mascot with words of tolerance and kindness. Control teasing and bullying by creating a caring environment that supports children to treat each other fairly and kindly.

Module 7  
“Keys To Success” Bullying Prevention & Intervention (grades 3-8)
The focus of this program is on recognizing and rewarding positive behavior. Students “buy in” because they are active participants in creating an environment where everyone is valued and treated with respect and dignity. The student program is easily infused in the curriculum, daily schedule or can be implemented as a cycle subject. Some of the things students will learn are:

• Proactive techniques so they become activated bystanders comfortable speaking up for themselves and others without putting anyone in danger
• What to do if you’re bullied
• How not to become a target
• The difference between bullying and conflict
• The difference between ratting and reporting
• How to create a bully free environment

Module 8
“Stand Up – Speak Out” Bullying Prevention for the middle school (grades 5-8)
Caring relationships form the foundation for all lasting learning. Through interactive games, team building activities and role playing, students learn:

• Strategies to stand up for themselves and others without putting anyone in danger
• To develop a clear understanding of bullying
• Personal accountably
• How to become positive bystanders with empowering life skills
• To build more respectful caring peer relationships
• To develop empathy
• The importance of teamwork through interactive fun games and activities

Empower students by using them as a resource. The program manual contains easy to follow lessons, games, activities and reproducible hand-outs.

Consultation

Our educational consultants can provide a variety of services from creating an anti-bullying initiative to implementing and overseeing it. They can assist with the writing of an anti-bullying and harassment policy, developing logical consequences and implementing a reporting and tracking system.  Consultants will gladly discuss your school needs, goals, objectives and how best to meet them.  There is NO CHARGE for the initial consultation.
